1992年名古屋市東区で開設。神野公男がコレクター 昂じてギャラリストに転じ現代アートの最先端であったドイツ人作家を日本に紹介するのに専念。 草間彌生、田中敦子・金山明夫妻を早くから評価して展示し見事な空間を。ケルンやバーゼルのARTFAIRにも日本から積極的に参加。現在は千種区に移転。 足場板の壁が特徴。神野の選ぶ基準は”見たことがないものを見たいと言う要求を満たしてくれる作家や作品。逝去後も彼らの展開を見続ける場として続行。

Gallery Ham Established in 1992 in Higashi-ku, Nagoya by Kimio Jinno who became a collector-turned-gallerist and devoted himself to introducing German artists to Japan, who were at the forefront of contemporary art. He was also an early appreciator of Yayoi Kusama, Atsuko Tanaka and Akira Kanayama and exhibited their works in his space and Actively participated in International ARTFAIRs (in Cologne and Basel etc.) Now relocated to Chikusa Ward. Jinno’s selection criteria were artists and works that were innovative ,original and never seen before. After his death, Gallery Ham continues keeping alive his vision and values of being at the vanguard of the contemporary art.
